It is not well known that Croatia planted rice. At the end of the 40s of the last century first rice field appeared in Croatia. Production started in Istria. Near river Raša first rice fields were built. After Istria, new fields were near Sinj, Knin, Imotski, Slavonski Brod and Imotski. In Slavonski Brod there was a factory where rice is peeled and processed. 23/09/1948. Began the first harvest of rice on the surfaces of the Cooperative Agricultural good "Ivan Senjug Uncle".
